In the chapel the 19th century repainting of the vault, an imitation of the 14th century style, blends in with the Last Judgement fresco on the right wall. This work dates from the second half of the 14th century and is attributed to the so-called Second Master of Saint Zeno.
On the left: the eccentric funerary monument of the Scaligero leader Cortesia Serego, made by the Tuscan Pietro Niccolò Lamberti together with the painter Michele Giambono between 1424 and 1429. This artefact was made in the same year in which another pair of artists, Pisanello and the sculptor Nanni di Bartolo, competed on the same subject, in the Brenzoni Mausoleum in the nearby Church, San Fermo. The altar was refurbished in 1952. The stained glass windows of the apse are from 1935 and show, from the left St. Thomas, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Peter Martyr, St. Rose of Lima and St. Dominic. In front of the chapel you can admire the most beautiful part of the 15th century floor: a rose with the sun at the centre, a symbol of the Dominicans.
