The Salerni Chapel is located at the base of the clock tower. On the entrance’s pilasters there are frescoes with St. Anthony Abbot, St. John the Evangelist, Tobias and the Angel, 4 saints with a donor, 14thcentury works attributable to the so-called Second Master of St. Zeno.
The same workshop can take credit for the frame, inside the chapel, with a soldier presented to the Virgin by St. Catherine, St. George and St. Anthony Abbot. On the left wall the tomb of Giovanni Salerni is interned, dating back to 1386. In the left corner of the transept there are many interesting works, in particular the fresco of the Second Master of St. Zeno with Jacopo Beccucci presented to the Virgin and Child. On the walls there is a canvas with the Assumption, St. Nicholas and St. Cecilia and Alessandro Turchi known as the Orbetto, the deposition and the miracle of St. Hyacinth by Paolo Farinati and the painting by Francesco Morone representing St. Paul, Saint Dionigi, Magdalene and the devotees.
